Update on the Facebook/Instagram Merge (Including Leaked Photos)

In January 2019, Zuckerberg announced plans to integrate Instagram and Facebook. This merge would allow users across all platforms to send messages, share information, and view stories. The initial "launch" was estimated for the end of 2019 or early 2020, but it's safe to assume this has been delayed due to a shift in global focus with COVID-19.

Luckily, there have been a few leaks or as we call them "breadcrumbs" this month, and it's making us hungry! While this information is not confirmed, it is still exhilarating! Looking at the screen-grabs below, it appears that plans are progressing.

These images show an update screen along with privacy information on the changes within the update. Facebook users will be able to find and open conversations with business accounts on Instagram. Sorry business accounts, it looks like you may be blocked from starting conversations in reverse.

Lots of food for thought here, but one thing is clear. It's going to be essential to solidify and maintain your image on both Instagram and Facebook as these social highways see more "lanes" built.

Definitely a space to keep watching.
